Mission Statement

Division 09 Design, LLC is an affiliation of design and construction professionals assembled on a per project basis. David Conrath is the owner and principle. We are Virginia Class “A” general contractors, but our focus is on "well executed design at fair prices."

Where did the name ‘Division 09’ come from?

In construction accounting each item is tracked in 20 divisions. Division 09 is for all of the finishes that envelope you: the tangible element.

Dave Conrath’s biography

“I was profoundly influenced growing up surrounded in the traditional craftsmanship of Colonial Williamsburg. The smells of the candle maker, the roar of the blacksmith, and the ballet of the glass workers. It seemed only natural to pursue a career in the Arts and Crafts.”

“I am a third generation builder/designer with a personal passion for mid-century modern and retro design. My daily approach is very hands-on, as I manage all of the trades involved on a project.”

“My past experiences range from consulting on pre-Columbian structures, to restoration of early American Architecture. Of late, I have been fortunate to work with outstanding designers and clients. The projects I have worked on have included award-winning nationally published projects, including boutique restaurants and high-end retail.”

At Div09 it is all about lasting relationships and challenging projects.
